I have to admit, this is among the top 2 burger joints in the West Village. I’ve been here 3 times already and it’s always a treat. It does get packed, but the tables seem to turn over quick. For instance, tonight’s “25 minute wait” was less than 5, but you never know.

I always get the Original burger which comes with shiitake mushroom, caramelized onions, roasted tomato, parmesan crisp, and UMAMI ketchup. Never fails.

This clean burger comes on your plate neat and tidy. It’s not huge, so you wont be over stuffed. Their buns are hands down the best I’ve had. Light and fluffy, with a “U” stamped on top.

IMG_2231They also have their own 4 unique dipping sauces; ketchup, aioli, ranch, and their super spicy jalapeño.

This place is a must try!  You will be happy.

111 MacDougal Street

Great scene with a clubby yet unpretentious atmosphere.  Try and score a table in the back room and take advantage of the people watching around you (I ate next to Steve Nash last time I was there). A great place to go with a group of friends or a date.  Either way, be sure to get the Cote de Boeuf (sliced steak for 2). If you are or not (yet) a bone marrow fan, this place will turn you into one.  It is served with toast, sea salt and raspberry jam.  It is delicious.  Make sure you save room for the The Black Label Burger, despite its $27 price tag it is truly a must have!

The bartenders also mix some of the best (and strongest) cocktails of any restaurant I have been to.

Just had brunch here today with a few friends and loved it. We shared the whole wheat pancakes, which were nice and fluffy and sweet. I had the burger which was amazing; it is mixed with short-rib-brisket and has maple bacon on top of cheddar cheese. The fries were crispy and also perfect. I am told it’s one of the best burgers in the city. I have to agree. The quality of the meat is phenomenal. I cant wait to have dinner here.

I’ve heard rave reviews about their meatballs and pork chop too.

I was happy to find this place. A very good inexpensive burger and cheap beers. Burgers are 5-7 dollars and the most expensive draft beer is $3.75. Unbelievable for the West Village. The chicken sandwich is great too. The menu is short and sweet: burgers, fries, chicken sandwich, and chili. This is more of a burger and beer place than an hour long dinner. So far, my favorite burger in the West Village.

16 Bank St

I’ve been told its impossible to get in, but I’ve been numerous times and seem to have no problem. A short wait at most. Anyway, the atmosphere is great, and probably one of the nicest ambiance in the village. The burger was delish, and so was the steak. They have their famous truffle mac and cheese, which I havent had yet, but I know it is pricey.

Have not seen any celebrities here, but told its a celeb hot spot.
