This classic which is famous for their 14th street location now has a home in the West Village. Right between the trendy clubs Avenue and One Oak this is more of a sit down restaurant then the other location but the pizza is the only reason to go anyway. The Artichoke pizza they are famous for is insane but really really heavy. About an inch thick literally and super creamy which some people may not like. For a more simple slice the tomato and cheese is also really bomb. Personally I like to split a slice of Artichoke and split a slice of the crab which is also really unique.
what about a review on the real Artichoke West Village on MacDougal? Not West Enough?
Stopped at MacDougal location on the way home from a concert. Great for a quick slice, 1 will be more than enough for 1 person. Although I read about the crabmeat pizza, I decided to get the artichoke slice. Very rich and well worth the $4 pricetag. The downside is how heavy the slice is, it was very creamy and rich so plan on not being hungry for a few hours after. If you are having dinner soon and want something to tide you over in the meantime, I would skip this place otherwise it’s a solid place for a quick snack.
