Another very nice West Village bar/restaurant. The scene here is great, always filled with nice looking people. They did a great job decorating the space, and has a rich, homey vibe to it. A great date spot, if you have a table. Can be difficult to get a spot at the bar during peak hours, but this place should be on everyone’s list. They have a cool downstairs also, which has a totally different feel.
The Spaetzle, which is some sort of noodle dish, was delicious, and unique. The menu is filled with other nice new dishes such as a lamb crumble and assortment of various cheeses. Overall, a very solid place.
I got stood up here on a date once. I proceeded to get drunk after. nice bar!
A chic, trendy spot that I chose for a second date. We arrived about 15 minutes late for table and had to wait about 10 minutes at the bar for a drink, then got seated, very easy. Just about every aspect hit it out of the park. The atmosphere/volume was just perfect for a conversation and the lamb crumble was one of the most interesting/tasty dishes I have had in a long time. The only two downsides were the Gnocchi with duck, it was a bland dish that lacked the richness duck meat should have as well as some of the service. I waited almost 15 minutes for my drink once we were seated, although the waiter apologized profusely, it probably should not be this long to get a cocktail.
I went to Kingswood via a Village Vines (Savored.com) reservation which saved me 30% on the bill. Kingswood was delicious. Fresh ingredients, totally fine service, good decor. A really solid restaurant. It’s a really good option for a date, and is in a fairly large room for the Village, but I don”t know if I would have been that down with it if I wasn’t getting every third thing free…
